Ethos, values and aims
Our mission statement,
'Love one another, as I have loved you in our home, school and parish family.'
underpins everything that we do, plan to do and expect from our children and staff. We are a multi-cultural, multi-lingual, diverse school in the heart of the Community that promotes cohesion, tolerance and respect for all people at all times. We work tirelessly to ensure our children can go forward as respectful, tolerant young people who can contribute positively to the world in which they will live, grow and participate in. We are a Catholic school, but we welcome and embrace children and staff of different faiths or no faith. We believe people choose to work here, and parents choose to send their children here, because we have a reputation of not only academic success but of being a school who cares for all of its staff, pupil and parents/carers. Our mission statement summarises our ethos, values and aims:
•Jesus is the role model for all that we do, say and think within the school so that our lives are a living witness to the Gospel.
•Our school is part of the community of love with parish and family.
•Everyone will become confident, enthusiastic learners who take pride in themselves and their achievements.
•Everyone will be challenged to become independent learners with enquiring minds and positive attitudes
•A happy, safe and healthy environment will be provided where all are nurtured and cared for.
•Excellent standards of behaviour will be maintained with understanding, forgiveness and reconciliation being at the heart of that process.
•All members of our school community will celebrate diversity and respect other beliefs, cultures and ways of life as well as caring for our environment.
•Everyone will see themselves as valued members of a global family.
•Everyone will learn to take responsibility for our choices in life.
•Our young people will have the opportunity and confidence to participate in community activities.
•Our school will continue to develop partnerships with local schools as well as making wider diocesan links
